I had been searching for quite a while for a compact, minimalist, stylish, yet solidly built day pack capable of accommodating my MacBook Air 13” (in a zippered hard case) + ancillary chargers/cables, a book or two for work plus a book or two for personal/leisure.
This pack perfectly meets my needs —with the added bonus when I’m traveling of having, and with a bit of planning, enough space left over in the main compartment for a sandwich & snacks, an external zip pocket for my Kindle & passport, plus a stretch sleeve for my water bottle (1L).

Great Packable Backpack! I just got back from using this on a multi-day trip to San Francisco, and this went everywhere with me every day. I packed it inside my carryon bag, used it as my personal item on the airplane, and then took it sight seeing all day. It was great to have and I highly recommend trying one out.

The backpack straps feature lightweight padding throughout, and have hidden internal structure that prevents the shoulder straps from pinching inward or digging in. These bags are built from recycled nylon that meet Bluesign® criteria. Bluesign® is a highly reputable third party certification criteria that requires that fabrics do not contain harmful substances, are environmentally friendly, and are produced in a safe and fair environment. Our materials are also free from PFC, PFA, and PFAS.
Is the ReFraction™ Series waterproof?
The ReFraction™ Series is built from waterproof materials and has YKK® sealing zippers. The ReFraction™ Series is designed to withstand light bouts of precipitation. Outdoor coatings add further protection by letting water slick off the fabric. If you’re looking for full weatherproofing, we recommend the Advanced Series bags.
Are the ReFraction™ Series backpack and duffle bag personal-item size compliant?
Yes, all of the ReFraction™ Series bags are personal-item size compliant. Also—the sling does not count against your baggage count and is considered to be an item of clothing by most airlines. This makes it an excellent place to keep your in-flight accessories or essentials when you travel—it’s free space.
How long is the warranty?
The ReFraction™ Series has a 3 year warranty. Equipment in and out of warranty is eligible for free repairs.
