Friendly duffle

The good, bad and the ugly:
Good: Waterproof, good feel rubber grip on the handles, side pockets useful, ability to fit into a small net bag, holds a lot
Bad: The shoulder straps are not removable, a bit to small zippers that open into the main compartment-i wonder if they will last. Only comes in black.
Ugly: Not too easy to fold and roll-up the bag and place it into the net bag. While it can be done, it will take some practice.

A superb weekend go bag

I built a weekend go bag around the Freefly Packable Duffle with Gear Cubes (3), the NanoDry Packable Beach Towel, and the Droplet stuff sack, and tested it a couple of weeks ago. Managed to fit a full outfit change, slides, spare underwear and Ts, and duplicate toiletries and electronics (using Muji rollable EVA cases) to head out the door without having to police up all the usual gear. It was the perfect size to quickly navigate train stations and in and out of vehicles. The rubberised carry handles and simple shoulder strap were on point, and compression straps worked well and I can see them being handy for outer layers when the weather turns. The two external pockets were also ace. Overall, I love it — super lightweight, quality everything for the price and ace features for a truly packable duffle bag; looking forward to using it more — I recommend it.

Now for the minor suggestions from someone who’s bought, travelled with, adapted, and designed bags before: I realise making it packable limits the viability of features like a detachable or padded shoulder strap, attachment points, or backpack mode compression strap padding, but I’d love it if Matador sold things like super slim shoulder / backpack strap pads separately and thought about attachment points. Lastly, guys, please distribute directly in the UK/EU. I got battered by customs charges otherwise I’d be buying more. Great work, regardless. : )
