POSITION OVERVIEW
Matador is seeking a bold, creative, and results-driven Marketing Director to lead all aspects of brand marketing strategy and execution. This full-time, in-office role will be based at our Boulder, CO headquarters and will oversee a dynamic in-house team, ensuring our brand continues to grow, innovate, and lead in the premium travel gear space.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Director will manage the following functional areas:
- Performance marketing (digital advertising, paid social, paid search)
- Content creation and brand storytelling
- Social media and community engagement
- PR and influencer marketing
- Ecommerce marketing (Shopify)
- Wholesale/retail marketing support
- Events and experiential marketing
- Email and SMS marketing programs
- Analytics, reporting, and performance measurement
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic marketing plans across all customer touchpoints
- Manage and lead a high-performing internal team of marketers and creatives
- Manage external agencies and freelancers as needed
- Define KPIs, establish reporting systems, and monitor marketing performance
- Develop marketing campaigns to support product launches, seasonal promotions, and brand campaigns
- Collaborate with Creative Director to ensure brand consistency across all visual and written content
- Work closely with product, operations, and sales teams to ensure alignment across departments
- Serve as brand steward, staying attuned to trends, competitor activity, and customer insights
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation in the marketing department
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of marketing leadership experience, ideally at a physical product or consumer goods company
- Experience managing cross-functional marketing teams and initiatives
- Demonstrated success scaling brand awareness and revenue through creative and performance marketing
- Strong understanding of digital platforms, ecommerce (Shopify), social media, and content marketing
- Strategic thinker with creative vision and a sharp execution mindset
- Data-driven decision-making skills with proficiency in marketing analytics and tools
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field preferred

Matador is seeking a highly skilled and creative Content Creator / Photographer / Videographer to lead the generation of visual brand assets across photography and video. This role is critical in creating engaging and visually compelling content for our website, social media channels, and digital advertising. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a proven track record of generating content that drives engagement and elevates brand presence.
This full-time, in-office position will be based at our Boulder, CO headquarters. Remote applicants will not be considered.
DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
The Content Creator / Photographer / Videographer will report directly to the Marketing Director and collaborate closely with the Creative Director, Social Media Manager, and Digital Advertising Specialist. This role is responsible for producing consistent, high-quality visual content for the Matador brand.
Photography and Videography:
- Lead all in-house product and lifestyle photography
- Shoot, edit, and produce short-form and long-form video content
- Create visual assets for product launches, email campaigns, website updates, and ads
- Ensure content aligns with brand style, tone, and identity
- Maintain an organized and efficient media library
Content Creation for Social Media and Advertising:
- Produce engaging, quick-turn visual content tailored to each platform (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to create timely and relevant assets
- Support paid media efforts with scroll-stopping ad creatives
- Capture real-time content during events or launches
Contracted Shoot and Production Management:
- Manage outside contractors, photographers, videographers, and editors when needed
- Hire freelance talent, including models, stylists, or other production crew
- Generate shot lists and call sheets to guide production efforts
- Lead and coordinate contracted shoots, ensuring execution aligns with brand expectations and timelines
- Maintain responsibility for logistics, budget, and final delivery of outsourced creative
Collaboration and Strategy:
- Work closely with Creative Director and Marketing Director to ensure alignment with brand vision
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, and product teams
- Integrate feedback and adapt assets quickly for revisions and testing
- Support the marketing calendar with fresh visual content on a regular basis
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with gear testing and content shoots in the field
- Maintain camera and studio equipment
- Participate in creative brainstorms, marketing planning, and campaign reviews
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in photography, videography, and digital content creation
- Proven track record of managing visual content creation and creative production workflows
- Strong experience hiring models, working with freelancers, and coordinating multi-person shoots
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.)
- Strong visual storytelling skills and eye for detail
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Experience with studio and natural light shooting
- Must provide a portfolio demonstrating relevant work (photo, video, social content)
